Spotlight: LG WSEP4727F 30" Smart Wall Oven — Air Fry, Steam Sous-Vide & InstaView, Open-Box for $1,820

If you have ever cooked in a kitchen with a built-in wall oven, you know why people don't go back. The oven sits at eye level, you're not bending over a range door, and the cooktop lives on its own — which means two people can work in the kitchen at once without an argument. The catch has always been the price. A good 30-inch smart wall oven is one of the more expensive single appliances in a Canadian kitchen.

That's exactly the kind of appliance where buying open-box makes the most sense, and today's spotlight is a very good example: the LG WSEP4727F 30" single electric wall oven.

What it does

This is LG's feature-loaded single wall oven, and the spec sheet reads more like a premium built-in than a mid-range one:

  • 4.7 cu. ft. capacity with True European Convection — a dedicated 2,000 W third element and rear fan so the heat is even top to bottom. Five rack positions means you can actually use that space.
  • Air Fry, with the tray included — no basket to buy, no counter space surrendered to a second gadget. Wings and fries come out crisp without preheating a separate machine.
  • Steam cooking and Steam Sous-Vide — Steam Bake and Steam Roast keep roasts and breads from drying out, and true sous-vide in an oven is still rare at this price.
  • InstaView WideView window — knock twice and the interior lights up so you can check on dinner without opening the door and dumping the heat.
  • Temperature probe included — pull the roast at the internal temperature you actually wanted, not the one you guessed at.
  • ThinQ Wi-Fi — preheat from your phone, get a notification when the timer's done, and use SmartDiagnosis if something ever goes sideways. Works with Google Assistant and Alexa.
  • EasyClean (10 minutes) plus a full Self Clean cycle — a quick steam wipe for weeknight spills, the heavy cycle for after the holidays.
  • PrintProof smudge-resistant stainless — a real quality-of-life feature if there are kids in the house.

Who it's for

This one is for the homeowner doing a kitchen refresh who wants a built-in oven and a separate cooktop instead of a freestanding range. It drops into a standard 30-inch cut-out (28 1/2" W x 29 1/8" H x 24" D minimum), needs a 240 V connection on a 30 A breaker, and weighs 134 lbs — so plan on two people and a helper for install day. If you're replacing an existing wall oven, measure your current cut-out before you order; our measuring guide walks through it in five minutes.

What you save

Here's how the same oven is priced at Oxbury right now:

  • NEW BOX — $2,079 CAD. Sealed, untouched, full manufacturer warranty. This is already priced below what the big-box chains ask for the identical model, because that's how we price every unit in the warehouse.
  • OPEN BOX – SCRATCH & DENT — $1,820 CAD. Same oven, same functionality, with cosmetic marks somewhere on the housing. On a wall oven that is a particularly good bet: once it's in the cabinet, most of the exterior is hidden behind the trim anyway.

That's a $259 difference for blemishes you may never see again after install day. Every unit we sell is inspected and tested in our own shop before it goes on the floor, so "open box" here means cosmetic — not a gamble.

Both variants are in stock, and there is one of each. Wall ovens at this spec don't sit on our floor long.
